Album of the week: Diana Vickers "Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree"

Our album of the week comes from the british singer Diana Vickers. Diana from Lancashire started singing when she was 11 years old. The now 18 year old singer participated in the X-factor casting show in the UK in 2008 and made it into the live shows. When she sang “Patience” from Take That in one of the shows, guest Gary Barlow offered her a record deal. But of course, Simon Cowell said thanks Gary, we`ll do fine.

Diana got a record deal with RCA records and worked hard and long on her debut album “Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree”. It`s a suprisingly very good record with 13 brilliant pop songs. Not only her number 1 single “Once” shows us that she is a great talent, there are lots of other happy up-tempo songs like “Remake Me & You”, “The Boy Who Murderd Love” (what a great title!) or “My Hip” that are fantastic. She also sings beautiful ballads like “Four Leaf Clover”, “Me & You” or “N.U.M.B.”. Diana always convinces with her great voice. The album is nicely arranged and produced perfectly. She is definately one of Britain`s best female singers at the moment!
