Album of the week: Annie "Don`t stop"

Finally her new album is out. Norwegian singer and DJ Annie wanted to release her second album “Don`t stop” already in 2008. Problems with her label Universal forced her to leave the label and therefore she just released the new album on her own label Totally in conjunction with Smalltown Supersound.

On her new album she delivers fantastic sweet pop and dance tunes from “My Love Is Better”, “Bad Times” to “Songs Remind Me Of You”, “Loco”, the funny “I don`t like your band” and slower sugar pearls like “Marie Cherie” or “When the night”. She worked with people like Richard X (Girls Aloud, Kylie etc.),  Brian Higgins (Xenomania) and producer Paul Epworth (Bloc Party) on the new album and Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand played guitars on the song “Loco”.

For people who like bands like Saint Etienne, Annie is a perfect enrichment to your collection.

Annie (30) is originally from Bergen/Norway and started her music career in 1999 with her first single “The greatest hit”. Her debut album “Anniemal” was a great collection of electro pop songs and was released in 2004. Her pop music with edges is a nice alternation to other female pop singers. “Don´t stop” has been released last week in the UK, today in Norway and will be available in the US in November 2009.
