Colbie Caillat`s breakthrough

She is one of the singers who became succesful through Myspace. The american singer Colbie Caillat had such a strong fellowship on myspace that she was number-one unsigned singer on Myspace for 4 months. She got a record deal with Universal and released her song “Bubbly” in 2007, which became a worldwide monster hit. Her debut album “Coco” was a nice collection of pop and folk songs and became a million seller as well.

This week sees the release of her new album “Breakthrough”. The beautiful blonde singer brings us 13 new songs, as the debut, wonderful little light songs, among them the duet “Lucky” with Jason Mraz, a song from 2008.  Another duet is “Droplets” with Jason Reeves, her co-songwriter. She also wrote a couple of songs with grammy award winner Rick Nowels (Belinda Carlisle, Madonna). The album is produced by John Shanks, who did produce artists like Kelly Clarkson, Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morissette.  Also Colbie`s father, Ken Caillat, produced the album, he got famous for producing “Rumours” by Fleetwood Mac, one of the best selling albums of all time.
